CCP Global was formed in 2001 by major central counterparty organizations in Europe, Asia and the Americas to share CCP related information and to develop analyses and policy standards for common areas of concern. In 2008, CCP Global held its Annual Meeting in Tokyo and endorsed the collaboration by forming an Executive Committee to govern the global agenda. Later in 2015, the CCP Global General Assembly decided to register CCP Global as an official association in Shanghai, China. The CCP Global office was opened in 2017. In 2022 The Executive Committee of CCP Global announced the opening of the second CCP Global Office in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. In 2023 during Annual General Meeting in Bangkok, members approved a rebranding initiative, with the new association name being CCP Global.
