The IOSCO Annual Meeting which has taken place each year since September 1974 across 34 different cities, has now been postponed in light of the current global health crisis. The 45th IOSCO Annual Meeting was due to take place in Dubai this June, hosted by the Securities and Commodities Authority (SCA) of the United Arab Emirates (UAE), in conjunction with Dubai’s 2020-Expo which was also due to take place in October this year.
IOSCO released a statement last week stating: “The 45th IOSCO Annual Meeting has been postponed due to public health concerns linked to the COVID-19 pandemic. New dates within Q4 2020 are currently being assessed. Further information will be provided in due time.”
IOSCO has stated a possible Q4 conference, providing the pandemic relaxes by the end of the year. Further updates will be released by IOSCO in the coming months ahead as the international body monitors the ongoing situation.
